Shipping

Where we ship

We ship within the US only. International shipping is not available yet.

What it costs

Any order that contains macarons ships insulated by 2-day service for $12.95, free over $70. Candy-only orders are light and shelf-stable, so they ship standard for $5.95, free over $50.

The rate is shown before you pay. Stripe collects your shipping address at checkout.

When boxes leave

Boxes leave Monday through Wednesday, so nothing sits in a truck over a weekend. Order by noon Tuesday to ship this week. Orders placed after the cutoff bake for the following Monday.

Most 2-day boxes arrive in 2 days. Some addresses take 1 or 3. Once a box is with the carrier, the transit time is theirs, not ours.

How we pack

Macarons travel in a fitted tray inside an insulated liner with gel packs, year round. A thawed gel pack on arrival is normal. Candy ships in sealed, resealable pouches with air cushioning; a few broken pieces in a bag are normal.

Addresses and delays

Check your address before you pay. We cannot reship an order sent to an address you entered incorrectly, and we cannot redirect a box once it has shipped. If a carrier delay harms a box, treat it as a damaged delivery and send us a photo within 24 hours.

Freshness

Macarons

We bake after you order, mature the shells overnight with their filling, and ship the day the box closes. Refrigerate the box as soon as it arrives.

They are best within 5 to 7 days. Take them out of the refrigerator 20 minutes before serving so the center softens and the flavor opens up. After a week the shell softens and the filling dries, and we would rather you not meet them that way.

Candy

Freeze-dried candy is shelf-stable. Each pouch is hand-bagged, sealed and dated 12 months out. Keep it sealed in a cool, dry place and it stays crunchy to the date. Once open, reseal the pouch after each handful.

Our promise

Arrives perfect or we reship it. See Returns for how that works.

Allergens

In every macaron

Every macaron contains almond, egg and milk. There is no almond-free, egg-free or dairy-free macaron in our lineup.

In some macarons

Some flavors also contain wheat, peanut, sesame or soy. Each flavor lists its own allergens on its product page, and the box insert repeats them for the flavors inside.

Gluten-free: every flavor except Strawberry Shortcake, Cookies & Cream, Blueberry Cheesecake, Key Lime Pie, S'mores and Fruity Cereal, which contain wheat. Gluten-free flavors are made in the same facility as the ones that contain wheat.

Candy

Our freeze-dried candy contains none of the 9 major allergens as an ingredient. The pouch label carries the ingredient statement from the candy we start with. The candy is bagged in the same facility as the macarons.

Shared facility

Everything we sell is made in one facility that handles almond, egg, milk, wheat, peanut, sesame and soy. We clean between batches, but we cannot guarantee that any product is free of cross-contact. If you have a severe allergy, please do not order.

Returns and replacements

Perishable goods

Macarons and candy are food. We cannot take them back, so we do not offer returns. We do offer replacements.

Arrives perfect or we reship it

Open the box the day it lands. If macarons arrive cracked, crushed or warm, or a candy pouch arrives crushed or unsealed, email a photo of the outer box and the contents to hello@eyecandy.business within 24 hours of delivery. We reship the affected items on the next ship day at no cost.

A thawed gel pack is not damage. A few broken pieces of freeze-dried candy are not damage. A box that was left outside for a day after delivery is not damage we can cover.

No refunds beyond that

Replacement is the remedy for perishable goods. We do not refund orders after the 24-hour window, and we do not refund orders that were delivered correctly.

Cancellations

Because we bake to order, an order can be canceled only before it goes into the oven. Email us the same day you order and we will do our best. Once a box has shipped it cannot be canceled or redirected.

Subscriptions

What you get

A fixed box on a fixed cadence: monthly or every other month, macarons, candy or both. The contents rotate with the lineup and include that cycle's limited drop where the plan says so. Shipping is included in the price.

Billing

Your plan renews automatically on the same day of each cycle at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. Stripe charges the card on file and emails a receipt for each renewal.

If a plan's price changes, we email you at least 30 days before the new price applies. You can cancel before then at no cost.

Skip, pause, cancel

Every receipt email has a link to your customer portal. From there you can skip the next box, pause the plan or cancel it, in a few clicks, with no call and no email required. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the current cycle; a box that has already been charged still ships.

Preferences

Tell us flavors you do not want and we honor it. Allergen exclusions are honored the same way. Reply to any receipt email or write to hello@eyecandy.business.

Privacy

What we collect

Your name and email address, entered at checkout. We use them to send order updates, answer your questions and, if you opt in, tell you about new flavors. That is the whole list.

What Stripe collects

Payment card details and your shipping address are entered on Stripe's hosted checkout and stored by Stripe, never by us. Stripe is certified to PCI DSS Level 1. We receive the shipping address only as part of the order so we can ship it, and we never see your full card number. Receipts are emailed by Stripe.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It is privacy-friendly: no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no personal profile.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with anyone except the services needed to take your order and ship it: Stripe and the carrier.

Your choices

Ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@eyecandy.business and we will answer within a few days.

Terms of sale

Scope

These terms cover every purchase from https://eyecandy.business. We sell to customers in the US only. By placing an order you accept these terms, the Shipping, Returns and Subscriptions policies and the Privacy policy.

Orders and pricing

Prices are in US dollars and are set on our server from the catalog, not by the browser. If a price is shown in error, we will tell you before we bake and offer the correct price or a full refund of that order. We may decline an order for any lawful reason and will refund it in full if we do.

Perishable goods

Macarons and freeze-dried candy are perishable. They cannot be returned. Your remedy for a damaged or missing delivery is replacement, as set out in the Returns policy: a photo within 24 hours of delivery, and we reship. We are not responsible for delays caused by the carrier, weather or an incorrect address.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions renew automatically at the stated interval and price until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the link in your receipt email. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current cycle. Boxes already charged are shipped and not refunded.

Limitation of liability

Our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits rights the law does not let us limit.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable to the seller. Questions go to hello@eyecandy.business.

Trademarks

Our marks and theirs

Palette & Pastries™ and Eye Candy™ are trademarks of their owner. They are not registered; ® will be used only after registration (15 U.S.C. §1111). Skittles®, Jolly Rancher®, Starburst® and other candy names are trademarks of their respective owners; Eye Candy is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

What freeze-drying changes

Freeze-drying materially changes the original candy: its texture, size, moisture and the intensity of its flavor. The products we sell are not the original products and are not made, sanctioned or quality-controlled by the companies that make the candy we start from.

How we name things

Every product name on this site and on our packaging is our own. The candy we start from is named once, in plain text, in each product description and on the ingredient line of the pouch, so you know what you are buying. We do not use another company's name, logo or trade dress on the front of any package.
